24 01 24: Year 6 Gardener Thomas Takes On the Giant Spring Onion

Despite the chilly weather, our Year 6 gardening team, led by Mrs. Fulford, tackled the end-of-season cleanup at the Nelson school allotment during lunchtime. The task? Harvesting the last of last year's carrots and spring onions. In one remarkable photo, Thomas from Year 6 fearlessly grapples with an oversized spring onion. It took a lot of pulling, and some help from Mrs Fulford- but out it came !

The second photo captures the essence of the team – smiling faces, dirty hands, and a collective spirit that braves the cold. Each gardener, undeterred by the weather, contributed to the cleanup with a shared goal: preparing the beds for the next growing season.
