News around the world by Seerat, 6VD: In Uganda’s Kibale National Park, chimpanzees have been found dying from our colds. This is a phenomenon of catching diseases from humans and is called reverse zoonosis.  For some great ape populations, reverse zoonosis is an even greater threat than poaching or loss of natural habitat. The  British primatologist, Jane Goodall, first recorded chimpanzees often catching cold from humans in her book in 1986.
