LADYWOOD REGENERATION NEWSLETTER

The regeneration of the Ladywood Estate moves into next phase

We are contacting you to let you know that we have formally appointed St Joseph Homes, part of the Berkeley Group, as development partner for the regeneration of Ladywood.

What is the development agreement?

The developer agreement is a contact between us and our developer, St Joseph Homes. It sets out what the outcomes of the regeneration will be, as well as how we will work together to deliver these outcomes.

This partnership does not mean we will be taking a step back. We still retain overall responsibility for residents’ services, provision and housing. As the developer, St Joseph will lead the work with the community to design the masterplan, and be responsible for the building of homes, open spaces, public buildings and infrastructure.

What happens next

Now the agreement is signed, we wanted to send you this letter to notify you directly and to make sure you know as early as possible. This means we can now move on to the next stage of the project where you can get involved in shaping the design of the masterplan.

Upcoming engagements will see a series of community information sessions where we will be present along with St Joseph Homes. These sessions will give residents the opportunity to meet the developer and also understand the timeline of the project including the design of a masterplan for the area. It is expected that this activity will begin in spring 2025. Further letters and other forms of communication will follow to keep you informed as the design of the masterplan progresses.

What the regeneration will deliver

The renewal of the Ladywood Estate is set to be a 20-year project, with work not due to start on site until at least 2028. It will deliver new affordable homes, refurbished tower blocks, more open spaces, play areas and parks; new community facilities such as schools, healthcare centres and community spaces; better connected transport links and more than 1,000 apprenticeships and 10,000 full-time equivalent jobs.

Where you can go to find out more
