Birmingham ‘Air We Share’ Project

Our Year 5 pupils took part in the Air We Share workshops, exploring the important topic of air quality and sustainability.

During the project, pupils learnt about the impact of air pollution on both human health and the environment. They explored how trees, such as silver birch, can help to reduce harmful particles in the air and improve the quality of the surrounding environment.

Pupils also examined real air-quality data and discussed practical ways that individuals and communities can reduce pollution in everyday life. Using what they had learnt, they created their own artwork to express how air pollution makes them feel and to show the role nature can play in helping to protect our planet.

Artwork from 10 schools across Birmingham was brought together into the following video, designed to inspire our wider community to reflect on the changes we can all make for a healthier and more sustainable future.
