25/3/22 Stone Age Day

Year 3 Trip to Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre

Year 3 recently visited Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre for a day of Stone Age-themed activities. The children had a great time learning about how early humans lived and survived, and they also learnt how to steer a large canoe as a team.

One of the highlights of the day was making fire using a flint. The children were amazed to see how quickly they could get a fire going using this traditional method. They also learnt about the importance of fire to early humans, who used it to cook food, keep warm, and protect themselves from wild animals.

Another popular activity was learning how to steer a large canoe as a team. The children learnt how to paddle in sync and how to navigate the canoe through different types of water. They also learnt about the importance of teamwork and communication when working together on a task.

Overall, the children had a fantastic day learning about the Stone Age at Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre. The activities were engaging and informative, and the children really enjoyed consolidating their learning from school.
