Welcome to the after-school clubs page of Nelson Primary School. We offer a wide range of after-school clubs to extend our pupils' learning and promote active living. Clubs are run throughout the academic year, and are usually promoted using the school Marvellous-me app. Many of our clubs can be signed up for by using a Google Form which is sent out on the Marvellous Me app. It is essential that you get your Marvellous Me code from your teacher so that you do not miss out on club sign-ups. We usually confirm places with a good old-fashioned letter.
Please note that many parents miss out on club sign-ups as they are not using the Marvellous Me app.
There is usually a large number of parents who sign up for our popular clubs, so there will sadly always be some disappointment. However, most clubs have waiting lists and if we have children dropping out, we usually contact parents who are on the lists. Some clubs are free and some ask for a fee. We always try to charge the least amount, but unfortunately, clubs do incur costs, and we try our best not to pass it on to you. However, in this day and financial climate, sometimes that is not possible.
Our after-school club run by Mrs Ashraf for working parents has a cost, and you can visit the after-school club page to find out more. Bear in mind that there may be a waiting list for this service too.
We also operate a breakfast club too, which you can find out further information about on the breakfast club page. Again, this is a popular service we provide and this can also be subject to a waiting list.
In addition to these clubs, we also run sports clubs throughout the year aimed at different year groups; a drama class run by the Rep Theatre and Debate Mate club for children in year 5 and 6 that normally runs from November to April each academic year. Most recently, the Ex Cathedra Vocal Academy has taken up residence at our school on Saturdays, offering free singing instruction to our pupils.
Please use this section of the website to navigate our current after-school club activities and access the different pages explaining the clubs we offer to our pupils. We hope that your child will find a club that they enjoy and benefit from.
